Default XT25TG35s

It looks like Mad blew through the half price deal they had on these and I know why
Just put them in with a pair of PL14s in 8 litre boxes, and don't even have the crossover done right for them,.......THEY ARE REALLY NICE!!

p.s.
does anyone know (since North doesn't sell dyi anymore) where to get the little speaker connects that fit the Vifa tweeters. Bought 4 ea. of everything Madisound had but they don't fit right

Solder the wires!

I use a 4th order highpass at 3.3kHz, and they sound gorgeous. I may have a LP section for PL14 in the drawer somewhere.

I have a pair of PL25's I had to do that with, I was hoping there was a cleaner way

I would love to see that 14 x-over schematic just out of curiousity. I switched out a pair of PL24's and dropped these into a 3rd order @ 2500. Getting something strange at higher dbls. I think I may need to put the zobel back on the low pass. More than likely a hole new set of filters, I was originally going to use them with a pair of CA21REX. May still

I have been trying to get the FRD frequency combiner to give me something for the boxes I need to use if I put the XT's with the PL14's. I'm not sure I have everything set up the way it wants to see things

Follow the link below for a crossover for a PL14 and a XT25

sorry, my PL crossover seems to be lost. The dutch XT25 crossover is not good enough - the XT25 MUST have an impedance notch LCR to flatten the resonance pak, when used with a 2nd order filter. I use 4th order and have skipped it.

Zaph Audio has a serious bid on a XT25 crossover:

and Troels Gravesen:

Bear in mind that the XT25tg35 that you and I use is the version WITH magnetic oil. Results may therefore differ, and the impedance peak may be lower.

resulting response from "my" filter:

It's funny you should post, I've been working to wrap these puppies up so I can think of bigger and better things.
What I have isn't nearly as complicated as Zaph's, more like the Ellams, and I'm sure don't sound as good especially with those Scan Speaks.

I have an 8.5 liter box that has to fit in under a 12" high bookcase so the shape and size has been a problem from the beginning.
Using the design tools from FRC and accounting for the baffle I was able to refine my 3rd order approach and am pretty close to where I want the sound to be. i.e., do I keep the 7 or drop to a 6 ohm on the attenuater?

<link removed>

I started out targeting a 2500Hz crossover but it obviously had other ideas, so I guess these will go lower than the previous versions.

You don't get to see the crossovers yet, they are really ugly right now LOL, but I followed the directions for the "star" pattern recommended at North Creek
