Did the search here and google search. Has anyone designed a baffle step for an rs52?

Hi,

You probably did not find anything because the issues
are far more complex than your simple question implies.

Depends on the particular speaker design.

Good question, I found three different RS52's : Klipsch, Dayton and Reactor. The latter is for car audio.

Hi, In a car you generally do not need baffle step compensation, /sreten.

Your question implies that you lack bass in your car. A regular speaker level baffle step used in a car with these cheap speakers would lose you a lot of efficiency and also mean that you couldn't run them at any decent level without over excursion/distortion.

Does your head unit have any EQ? If you've tried turning up the bass to these 5" speakers then you'll probably already know what I mean.

Could you squeeze bigger/better speakers in? Considered a small sub?

The system is not put together yet. Based on what I have read the RS52 has a 12db peak at 13000hz. I want to run the RS52 to 6k hz if possible so I am concerned about the peak. My active cx is 12db.

Hi,

the above has the measurements.

You should repost with notch filter / trap filter instead baffle step in your title.

There are probably quite a few other examples around.
