I’m wondering if anyone has come across software that allows various test tones suitable for speaker testing to be generated on a computer for burning onto a CD-ROM? In addition to the usual sweeps, tones etc. that I have on other test disks, I’m interested in those specific to speaker positioning, such as phase tests.

There are several programs specially designed for this.
But they are all a bit restricted to "standard" procedures.
But if you have a little experience with computer audio try a good sound editor instead and create all the sounds you want (like COOLEDIT from <http://www.syntrillium.com>, Soundforge from <http://www.sonicfoundry.com> or even Goldwave from <http://www.goldwave.com>). You should get trial versions for free.
Examples: All Delays and Phases etc., Noise in different color and stereophase, sweeps, filtered sounds.
You name it.
Than you burn a CD with the results.

ps: This is, btw., also a good method to "analyse" the valued high fidelity music material we all are so fond about. You can see from the displayed waveform for example how compressed most of the recorded music actually is. You can even manipulate the signal in the way the big studios do and add more "spaciousness" etc. ;-)
