excuse me for my English. I built optimo of Tony Gee, it's really a great loudspeaker.

Hello anatole51
Which crossover did you use? Which tweeters did you use? My Optimos are still in a bass reflex cabinet and sound fairly avarage. I have ordered some plywood to make Tony's Transmission line cabinets and I expect great improvements. "Best two-way ever"??? I used the ScanSpeak tweeters. My crossover is the budget version. It would be very interesting to compare the budget crossover versus the high-end one. I wonder what the improvemnets are? I will probably build the high-end crossover eventually (probably when I am bored with no projects to do). For now I am very busy. I am glad you like your Optimo. |

The TL will sound different, but not the best two way. The designs of him sounds to me nice, but not great.

Well, I used the version with the tweeter vifa and the 2904/70005.I' tested the 2 versions in bass reflex and TL. The version TL is higher than my ears, you will gain in détail and open midrange. The 4531g00 functions much better out of TL, the tweeter does not change .I possess a pair of B&W 705 and the optimo is superior of 2 levels. I advise you to make the high-end cross-over, with a good recording it is of the happiness. I possess a pair of B&W 705 and the optimo is superior of 2 levels. "Best two way", I don't know but really higher que B&W 805 s référence. |
