Default B&c 6pev13

HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!

I want to use the B&C 6pev13 midrange, does anyone here know antything about it or have you used it ?

The datasheet is rather impressive, then i see the FR plot. It looks awful, am i missing something ?

Look at the 18 sound 6ND430 mid. specs look much better and it has some good reviews.

Very flat overall from 50 to 500 and rising slightly from 500 to 5K that should be able to be tamed easily. Nice off access response too!

I am looking forward to working with this driver.

Hi ZC,
Thanks for the link. The only problem with that driver is my B&C's i need to do something with the ones i already have. Hence my question.

I have used that. It follows the trail of the lamented Audax PR170MO but with lesser quality paper and not so successful termination. It exibits that rise in response you see in the pdf on open baffle (used them as such) and its normal when mounting a 6 incher like that, and monotonic (inverse to a crossover coil cutting progressively). They sounded dirtier than the Audax and you can see the little blips on its impedance plot higher in range correlating with that. Not bad at all from 400 to 3500 Hz though. It just didn't cut it as the Audax to 6K, that was all. Easy to implement, tough, sensitive, available, good price, a good midrange. I would use it in a pro cabinet with a good 15, and and BMS 1'' or a B&C D16 on top with a dedicated cross, but it won't sound the same as a drop in replacement in a Nexo Alpha system for instance.

Thanks salas, I have 8 PR170MO's as a mid in a line array. They sound rather nice.
I intend to use the B&C's as single mids in a 3 way for my daughter. The bottom end will be a PD.18BR40 my sister is sourcing them for me in France. There ain't no dealer here in Oz, and the singapore dealer can't be bothered replying to email or telephone enquiries.

The Precision Devices looks light enough (153grams moving mass) for a 400Hz cut - in general I would not use a normal 18 over 200Hz -, what is your HF choice?

Well, I've got a lot of JBL 2470's with various diaphragms in them. They sound nice for domestic use as well.
I might be better off putting them on ebay and using a P audio Neo SD 450N.
The third choice is either JBL rings or slots i have both of those as well. The rings might be good as a supertweeter as they cross too high to be useful (to me).

JBL alnico drivers good for mids to 12K with phenolic treated fabric element and silver Eddy ring on E-bay? The Japanese are bidding already!
