I have a few questions.
First, I have a PA system installed in my car. its a 15 watt speaker. I want it to be louder, so do I simply buy a loudspeaker with more wattage, and keep the old power unit? or do I also have to buy a different power unit that puts out more watts? |

How big is the amplifier? If it's less than 15 watts get a bigger amp.
Otherwise try for a more efficient speaker. Look at loudspeaker efficiency. Measured as how loud for one watt of power one metre away from the speaker. Speaker wattage is how much power the speaker can take without damage. You might find a 5 watt speaker that is louder. |
