Default Safe To Add Another Bass Port?

Hi everyone.

I have a noob question about adding bass to my speakers.

Would it be safe to add an extra bass port to my speaker cabs? They are front ported already but the bass output is fairly pitiful and I am wondering if I could cut another port, as larger cabs may be difficult due to WAF.

Regards, Lee.

Better to use an equalizer than to try and alter a cabinet. If the cabinet is designed correctly, adding another port won't help as sreten has said.

Those are the original woofers the cabinets came with, right?

Nobody just bought a replacement speaker for a broken woofer and just put it in the cabinet?

Thanks for the info guys. I thought this might be the case, I guess I'll have to build bigger cabs.

They are fully original speakers, Tannoy Dual Concentric 12". They need a really big box to breathe properly.

Thanks again, Lee.
