Ribon tweeters

HI ALL.
I was wondering if there is anyone who build a speakers with seas g18rnx/p and some ribon tweeters......

as i am by building these speakers, and still strugling with tweeters... i am investing a lot time in cabinet design, so the choice of a tweeter is a bit of dilemma...i preffer crisp but earfriendly (smooth????? ) heights..... ( a havent heard ribons yet... :( )

If yous have any suggestions, i would appriciate it.

When some progres is done, i will post pics, as only thing i have now are templates for cabinets. The shape will be curved cabs and a multiplate sendwich construction ( approx 27pcs of 15mm MDF ).

Thanks

LMAO @ porn site link.

However, after building these I would use the Hi-Vi RT8-II if I had my time again. I think that is the tweeter you should use.

It will work to a decently low Xover point of around 2KHz (not quite as low as they say) and also has quite directive highs which should give you a smoother top end sound since you will get a slightly falling power response.

compare it with this one

one problem with many small ribbons is that they dont go very low in frequency, unless if they are the bigger ones, and they are mostly of higher sensitivity, and I coulnt get myself to mate a 95db tweeter with a 85db woofer

so I would consider double 8" with a bigger ribbon that goes low and get the advantage of the higher sensitivity and better power handling

work started today

hi all.work started today, some mdf plates already cut.i've used a router for the first time today, its very easy.i thought i'd be lost, but its easy as .....
here is a PC generated pic of mid/bass enclosure.
I decided to use BG Neo8 and activ Xo, so there will be changes in the future (swap Neo for something else, or add Neo3....who knows...)
