Simple question on multiple port lengths

 17th January 2003, 09:13 AM #1 Dave Bullet   diyAudio Member   Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: Wellington, New Zealand Simple question on multiple port lengths Assuming the following equation gives the length port(s) in metric: Lv = (23562.5*Dv^2*Np/(Fb^2*Vb))-(k*Dv) (dv=diameter) Does that mean Lv = a) the total length of all ports? or b) the required length of each port? eg. if Np=1 and Lv = 45cm for a given Fb, Vb and Dv, but the equation = 97cm when Np=2.... Does that mean each port should = 97cm in length? - or each port should add up to a total length of 97cm? Also.... does each port have to be the same length (eg - could one be 60cm and the other 37cm - assuming the same diameter)? Yours in simple minded confusion, Dave.
 17th January 2003, 11:10 AM #2 audioPON diyAudio Member   Join Date: Sep 2002 Location: Norway I'm not sure about your first qestion, but it looks like it would be the lenght of each port. Each port needs to be the same length.
