Can I use my UMIK1 as a Mic on my cell phone?

Hi all, I have to make a short vid for work and wondering if I can use my UMIK-1 hooked up to my Galaxy S8+.

Plug it in and see if it is recognised. If so, you might be in business. It is only a USB connection so should not damage.

No insult intended. It is one of those situations where it would make sense if understood but probably difficult if you don't.
