Default Latency

I gather latency can be anywhere from 1.5-4ms dependant upon filters. So can I assume I will introduce some undesirable results if using the minidsp for midrange to tweeter crossover only duties but using an analog opamp low pass filter for the approx.200hz woofer crossover? The woofer would be equi-distance as the mid and tweet but could optionally be set back 12" or so.

i have a doubt : is it possible to connect a cd player to the minidsp 8x8 via spdif and have the output on the 4 analog channels (4 way) saving a A/D conversion? or do i have to use the analog in ?

I assume you would need to use the Minidigi before the 8x8 although I dont have an 8x8 so am not 100% sure.

By the look of the back panel it has Digital input so I dont see any reason why you could not run the SPDIF to it & have a 4 way output to each speaker. I haven't seen this item before but it looks very similar to the one I built using the other parts.

The 10x10Hd has one of these included - DIGI-FP | miniDSP for exactly the purpose you're mentioning.

The only time this would not work would be if you had multichannel encoded signal on the spdif interface.

If you are doing 2ch spdif input as your only input I think you'd save some money and have the same functionality from 4x10

many thanks for your help , i think i will only use 1 spdif (cd player) and 1 coaxial (PC) as source , i dont use analog sources anymore , so maybe the 4x10 is enough

Ahh nice nice, Shame that post doesn't really go into any detail haha

But after some research, Im thinking of maybe a chipamp / minidsp/amp combo in a single chassis, Need more power than 20w for a sub in the end.

More research more fun
