Default Hook up wire for alpair 10.3

Hi all,
I'm in the process of building Pensil 10.3. In terms of the internal wire from the speaker to the binding post. What guage of wire are you guys using and what wire do you guys reccomend?

Not much of a big deal; the runs are very short for internal wire so voltage drop is minimal. Something like 20ga should be fine.

I know, let's start another "wire / cable" thread, some things just never get talked to death

Seriously, we typically use single strands of #24 rescued from CAT5 cable - ( on both sides of the speaker terminals), and if you want to get really carried away, 2 or 3 strands per polarity.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. Sorry about another wire/cable thread, but when searching through the forum I couldn't find this topic in specific. Now let me rummage through my box of CAT5 cable (I'm an IT tech) and see what I can find. Now solid or stranded core?... just kidding.

solid core, plenum rated with the teflon insulation is best - if it has the rip cord for easy removal of jacket, your life will be a bit easier

and FWIW, I like to continue the "less metal mass in the signal path" philosophy by using the cheapest plastic nut 5-way binding posts on speaker enclosures, and the budget RadioShack / "Source" RCAs on interconnects.

The Eichmann pods / banana plugs RCAs are wonderful, but can cost more than both the drivers and plywood for a small build, and I know where I want to spend my limited budget.

I'm not sure I want a wire that sounds of anything.
