Hmmm...

I've been to Honk Kong a couple dozen times. I usually arrive back in the States the evening that I depart from there.

All kidding aside... So that means Madisound and Planet 10 will be getting their shipment around the beginning of July?

I (mostly) get my drivers from Madisound, so they will get them 1st. Actual arrival will depend on when Mark got them on the boat.

well, on single pair shipments direct to end users (such as my MAOP7 a couple of month back) FEDEX International Air is pretty damned quick alright, but on larger stocking orders such as this I'd assume it's a slow boat from China - literally / actually, not figuratively

and AFAIK the continental NA resellers ( Bob Reimer, Planet10, others? ) need to await shipping out from Madisound ( usually less than a week, depending on Customs clearing)

I got an impression from a local diyer that out of the box, the 10.3 sounds airy to him. Compare to a treated fostex, it sounds deeper in bass and very tonal in the mid…

which Fostex, and which treatment?

Yup, the 10s certainly have amazing bottom end for their size, and all of Mark's drivers I've heard so far are more neutral in the mids than "comparable" Fostex .

For some folks / applications, the Fostex forward/dynamic presentation is a positive attribute - others can find it fatiguing.

It's good thing that DIYers have such an abundance of choices, that even at over $100 per driver are relatively affordable compared to the cost of mainstream commercial products.

It is a FE206E. I'll have to ask him the kind of treatment used. The Fostex sounds sharp compared to MA.
