Is the Alpair 8 any closer. Im looking to pick up a carton of either 7.3's of the 10.3's and perhaps this may sway me and offer the best of both?

I'm guessing the 8 would factor in size as an element of choice but the problem of extension vs soundstage would still exist as is the case many have underlined between the 7 and 10.

Maybe best to decide on the design goal first and see which set of compromises are more acceptable?

Hi Studio,
The 8 is making progress. We should have a working prototype by early/mid January.

But bear in mind this new driver is designed very much with the diyer in mind who likes to experiment. The higher cost of the complex frame manufacture won't suit it to small commercial applications. Stick with 7's and 10's for this purpose.
Thanks
Mark.

Maybe I've missed info in some other thread, but the current info about the Alpair 8 is a bit sketchy at best? Any info you could add? Especially, what is the time table for production? (Tempted to order a pair of 7.3's soonish, but I've been delayed/postponing this build long enough that I might decide to wait for the 8's.....)
