Hi Chaps,
Many thanks again for your best wishes and support. I've somewhat under estimated the time and effort needed to make progress on my recovery. I'm held back by post-operative pain (gradually reducing thank the gods) and an 8Kg loss in body mass. Given that I only weighed 77Kg to start with, I can certainly say I'm now a very slim fella. Walking and dong general chores takes it out of me, I'm constantly short on energy. However, these losses are gradually reducing. The Doc was right, it is going to take well over a month to return to near normal service. So please accept my apologies for lack of replies and input to some outstanding threads. I will get back to chatting on the threads, just taking me longer than anticipated. Cheers Mark |

Take your time Mark. There are more important things in life than audio.
Wait, did I just say that?

A patient if mine (I am a neurologist) just went through a very similar surgery for the same thing. He told me it took 6 weeks or so to recover and at three months, when I saw him, he said it wasn't perfect, but he felt great. He looked like nothing had happened by that time. He also has a very good likelihood of a complete cure, which is the most fantastic and important thing.
So, like I tell many people in my office, be patient, don't push it, do it right. A few months is nothing when you have just gotten back the rest of your life! People would rather have you here a long time, than back to work a little sooner. As Cal says...and it will still be there when you have recovered. So remember that you are your number one concern, keep doing well! |
