Hi Mark,
I trust that if you are reading this that your operations went well. Welcome to the Survivor's Club! We are a small club but our numbers are growing. There are several characteristics to our members: a real love for life coupled with a profound acceptance that it is temporary and fleeting, an ability to prioritize, the ability to laugh at just about anything that has a hint of humor. Some advice: nutrition is extremely important so please find a good dietitian that has experience with cancer survivors, try to be patient with yourself cause your body will need time to recover - food and rest. Good music can really sooth the soul and you have that part very well covered!
Mark - 14 year survivor of 6 major operations that still rides his bicycle to work 3 days a week totaling 90 miles / 146 KM - Woo Hoo!!!!

Hello Chaps,
I've made it thorough the 2 surgeries last Monday and Tuesday. Beginning to recover well, hoping to leave St Pauls hospital by this coming Monday. The surgeons and all the medical/care staff have been fantastic. I feel very lucky to be in their hands.

Happy to say Dr Lee (surgeon) managed to extract all the affected tissues. I've lost 18cm of my Colon (ouch!) but will still be able to function OK. Tests so far indicate its an early stage 2 colon tumour, meaning the malignancy is localised. There will some debate as to whether go for chemo treatment. Anyway, main thing is I'm gradually on the mend so a get on the computer next week.

I'll need 6 weeks of recovery time as the surgeries were substantial. Really appreciate all the best wishes and support from you guys, thanks again. Looking forward to chatting more next week.

Cheers
Mark.
