Best floorstanding plan for Alpair 10.2 ?

If you're at all considering stand-mount enclosures, these "Mar-Ken" cabs with the Alpair 10.2 drivers are splendid performers.
(in my room, with my amp, &c, &c!)

As a pair of Alpair 10.2 is on its way to my home, the only thing I can change is the plan. OB, BLH, Sealed, and Vented is OK. Fast and clean sound mostly desired.

Thanks for your reply. As my baby starts walking soon, a pair of floor-mount is needed to replace my stand-mount Fountek FR89EX.

Distortion is an abused term and has very specific connotations. It also does not include noise (althou in its broadest terms noise is a distortion). I like to use the term DDR (downward dynamic range).

The box affects imaging and detail, both on the outside as Scott mentions and largely due to the diffraction signature, and the inside -- what comes back thru the cone after bouncing around inside, and how any standing waves affect the load on the driver.

Bob's MLTLs are as elegant a high performance & well balanced floorstander as I think you'll find for these drivers without getting into something like the Silbury



not a tiny enclosure (72" tall) - and at 9"W x16"D deep the Pensil for A10 could be a bit awkward as far as WAF is concerned

Personally, I like the Silbury design very much. Unfortunately, I don't have space for them. Besides, does it belong to BLH family? I have asked Mark about using A10.2 on BLH application, and his answer was negative.

Silbury came from the same pen as the Pensils. The design works.

It is indeed a BLH, and with no disrespect at all intended, Mark is mistaken in this case regarding enclosure design. The 10.2 is perfectly well suited for back-horn use, and feedback from those who have built the box in question has been unanimously positive.
