Open baffle or aperiodic of some sort. I am crossing to a woofer, so i dont need the LF extension.

This should be exciting. Have you chosen a woofer yet? Or are you doing the standard H-frame with Eminence drivers thing?

As Zia said, the 1st batch of these sold out quickly (even thou, as i undersatnd, Madisound increased their order under initial inquiries), and they have another order in. I expect that we'll see this driver for some time. I am happier with them stock, than i was with the metal ones treated (this based on no direct comparison).

This is good to see. Though I've only got the Alpair 10.2M and the Alpair 7.3M to compare them to, I'd say these 12P are in a league of their own. And yes, that's a good thing.

I wouldn't go that far. A7.3eN, A10.2eN, and EL70eN out image the stock drivers (that may change once the 12.2p get treated) and the latter 2 go lower in the bass -- no direct comparisons yet thou, i'll have to get Chris to bring Mar-Ken10.2 when we do.

Interesting that you say the 12.2P's are "out imaged" by the other drivers you listed. I personally feel the opposite and find that the 12.2P holds its own with both of the drivers I've tried and is louder and goes lower in bass. I haven't done any direct comparisons either but I use the 7.3 here at my office all day every day, and in the next room over is my 10.2 set that my Dad listens to. I have a pretty good idea of how these sound by now, but find your comment very interesting.

In any case, we all hear differently so both of our findings may be completely valid. With all of the variables that you take into account it's near impossible for us to hear the same exact speaker, the exact same. Know what I mean?

I believe, Steve, that you have not heard any of the above mentioned treated drivers. A12.2p images almost as good as stock A7.3 which is better than any of the other stock.

You're correct, Dave. I haven't. But comparing them to my own stock drivers is what I base my opinions on.
