but rather than attempt for maximum theoretical LF output with this driver, I'd be inclined towards something that sacrifices extension for linearity / "finesse" - easy for me to say, cause the boxes are 2/3 built awaiting drivers to confirm dry fitment of bracing parts

And btw, just how much extension are you losing over the pencil's?

I like the idea od linearity, when they're up and running, 'd like to see a transfer function Fq/Ω.

Thanks Chris!

Prefer the finesse over big low end. It will undoubtedly be very interesting how box and speakers do upper register and (mid) lows . I plan on OB experiments as well good luck!

Please remember that if you plan on rebating the 12Ps for flush mounting that allowing for gasket compression and possible veneer finish, the required depth for flange and super-gasket is 10mm - so a single layer of 18mm won't leave a lot of meat for fasteners, particularly after the rear of opening is relieved with chamfer or round-over.

On the MK12Ps currently on the bench I used 18mm + 6mm ply for the baffle, which leaves approx 14mm of core for the hex head mounting screws.
