I am not that experienced with drivers, so I have to admit I am not familiar with "Gm/cm" used by MarkAudio as a unit for the Thiele BL variable. How does this convert to the more common "N/amp"? The conversion must be close to 1:1 as the values seem to be in the same numerical range as driver N/amp values

Hmm ... multiply by 10 it seems!
Ratio: (1 newton per ampere / 1 grams per centimeter - Google Search) Conversion: 1 gram per centimeter * (1 newton per ampere / 1 grams per centimeter) in newtons per ampere - Google Search |

Thanks - You had a much more clever way of doing the google search. I think 10x is high though. It would yield unreasonable numbers like 38.3 N/amp for the Alpair 7 which seems really high

Hi Guys,
Apologies for any confusion. We use G/cm during our testing phases. Its easier for us to calculate loads on the power-train. For published results, we switch to T.m. I forgot to set this facility on LMS. We'll go back and re-calculate using LMS. Give me a few days to sort this out, I'll up-date this parameter for Alpair 7 Gen 3, CHR-70 Gen.3, CHP-70 Gen 2. and CHBW Gen 1. Cheers Mark. |
