I imagine it works quite well too! The 7's are supposed to be great and I would love to try some FH3's with them. The 12's, though ... they're my cup-o-tea We were listening to Ottmar Liebert: Opium tonight and my father in law thought my dual 15" subs were on. That's the amount of bass that was coming from my SuperPensils. For music, these are probably gonna be it for me. Mark did an absolutely FANTASTIC job with these 12's and I'm continually impressed with how good they are.

Scott,

Great job with the Super Pensils. I've moved my A12s in Studio Reference Monitors, and they do very nicely there too, albeit bass is not as powerful or deep as with the Pensil.

OT, since you like Liebert, you can try out Acoustic Alchemy - or is it a moot poit I bring up - you already have?

Wishing all folks a very happy 2012!

Zia,

That's funny because I almost put on Acoustic Alchemy last night. I will today and have another listen. I like the looks of the studio reference monitors but like you said, the bass is less but that's to be expected.

Happy 2012 to you too!

Thank you very much! They didn't turn out perfect (you can see the seams in a few areas) but overall I'm very happy with how they turned out. The room does sound very good now. These are truly fantastic speakers.

Just wanted to state I'm enjoying these every day. I hooked my hd radio back up and found a local station on 103.3 HD2 that is jazz and it's great. Listened for hours the other night. I haven't done that in too long and it was fantastic. Just pure excellence on every track that was played. Great depth of soundstage and perfectly spot on imaging every time. They show the downsides of bad recordings but even so still sound amazing. I love these speakers.

Hello Skeeter,
I applaud your courage in building with the 12's. I am way back at the experiemental phase with the el70's. I am currently building the Derwents (Woden) designs. I have head from others here about the surprising 300hz spike that needs damping. Do you have any insight about the 12's? any special requirements.
I look forward to your posts. Are you using baltic birch? are you sticking to a single driver design?
