Pensil 10.2+Kenneth's tranformers+Western Electric 300B, Bravo!

Hello,

I and Kenneth were very pleased to invite Mr. Mark, Mr. Norio and Kenneth's friends to join a listening session at Kennth's workplace in Fotan on this Sunday (13-Feb.). The aim is to listen the three stuffs:
1) a new pair Mark's Alpair 10.2 Gen.2 full range emitter, a new Pensil 10.2 cabinet designed by Mr. Scott Lindgren and the drivers were installed onto Pensil 10.2 oakwood cabinets by Tony.
2) a new pair double c-core output transformers made by Kenneth, a experienced transformer engineer and manufacturer in Hong Kong
3) two pairs Western Electric 300B: one is original and vintage Western Electric 300B with yellow print and made in 1951. another is re-issue Western Electric 300B with yellow print and made in 1990s. Thanks Kenneth's friends for providing the rare 300B tubes for our listening. Take care, the tubes are very expensive.

Thanks Mark, Scott, Kenneth and cabinet maker in China for their efforts. Great jobs! Thanks Norio and Kenneth's friends for their times in the session. All of us enjoyed the happy hours which we listened music in the afternoon.

-Sony DVP-7000 and Denon DCD-3000 CD player
-Twin Audio 12AT7-6SL7 preamp with Kenneth's power transformer and choke, tubes: Harton 12AT7 and Mullard ECC35
-Opera M500 300B mono block power amps with Kenneth's power transformers, chokes and double c-core output transformers, tubes: CV1988, Western Eletric 300B and GEC U52 rectifiers
-Pensil 10.2 oakwood cab with Mark's new Alpair 10.2 full range emitter, installed by Tony, Furutech FS-303 OFC wires between Alpair 10.2 and binding posts (CMC 858-LG), damping material inside: poly fibre in white color.

These are greatest tubes in the world, Western Electric 300B.
The original 1951 Western Electric 300Bs yellow print are very rare and expensive now. They were sold at US5,000 for one pair in Ebay.

The 300Bs in the blue boxes are re-issue Western Electric 300B (made in USA), also rare in the market.

The listening session was great. So nice to play with so many goodies! The best part of the afternoon's session was this combination:

Alpair 10.2 driver in 10.2 Pencils
300B mono-blocks with Kenneth's hand-wound C type transformers
Vintage (circa 1959) 300B Weston Electric valves (tubes)
Denon DCD3000 CD player
Assortment of nice copper inter-connects

The new Pensil 10.2 cabinet is larger (deeper) than the old Pensil 10 as Alpair 10.2's FO is 36 Hz, much lower than Alpair 10 and Alpair 10.2's Qts increased to 0.35. Pensil 10.2 can perform much more bass than the old model.
