Hi Norm,
Should be during April all being well. Re discounts, its the dealers that decide these situations. Naturally, I'll encourage them to be helpful. Talk to Bob at Creative Sound Solutions or Steve at Stereo, Chris at Solen or Meniscus: Creative Sound - Speakers and Parts Product List Solen Electronique Inc. Stereo Clarity http://meniscusaudio.com/full-range-...page=2&sort=3a Cheers, Mark Last edited by markaudio; 22nd February 2010 at 10:13 AM. Reason: additional info. |

Will the outer dimensions be exactly the same as the gen. 1 version? E.g. can a gen. 1 be swapped with a gen. 2 in the same enclosure?

The new driver comes with a cover over the front section of the frame (like Alpair 7 and Alpair 12). This increases the O/D to 165-mm. I can look into supplying some drivers with separate covers. But how many folks will want to change to the new model? Cheers Mark. Last edited by markaudio; 28th February 2010 at 09:01 AM. Reason: typo mending |

Hi Norm,
Good to hear from you. Yes, I see your point. The Alp 10 in a 160-mm O/D frame has been around for a while. I guess much depends if some Alp10 users want to swop over to the new model. I'm also working on various coil combos so need to think about this some more. I'll see if posting in Full Range works OK. I'd value your input if can I post there - thanks. Cheers Mark. |

I would think that if it was the same size, 50% of diy's would buy it and sell older model to those of us who do not have (but most of us need boxes built), then eventually we would buy the newest driver. We all win.
A drop in driver would make the buying decision much easier (more sales I'd bet). And Carolina Audio (their sm4) would also be happy. Norman |
