Method to assemble Mark Audio drivers into cabs

Thanks very much for Mark's technical help on assembling Mark Audio full range speakers. The following are guidelines which show how to assemble Mark Audio full range speakers.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for taking photos of me assembling drivers into your cabinets. They may be helpful to other newcomers so glad if you can post them. Let me know if you need more help.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,

They are easy, but need to take note something which are important. Please correct me if necessary.

First, to have a suitable damping material for the speakers. Mark recommends black foam. 20mm-25mm is better.

To cut the black foam into pieces that cover the internal area of cabinets. Make sure the foam sticks the sides of cabinets. Can use two sides tape if necessary.

Put the foam into the cabinet and make sure there is no gaps on up and down corners.

Before the above step, need to open screw holes first. To place driver's face down to the hole and make sure the driver is in horizontal by using a paper for guideline. And then, drill the screw holes. Firstly use 4mm drill head on a 12V driller and slightly drill holes to mark positions, just drill 1-2 seconds is OK. Take out the driver and follow the positions and use 2.8 mm drill head to drill holes, must go through the front panel.

Cable is very critical for full range speakers as they don't have crossover. To select a good cable is necessary. I bought Furutech FS-303 speaker cable. This is OFC with 16AWG Alpha-conductor. Note the cable has direction.
