Hi Mark,
Do you know if any of your European distributors are stocking the new CHR-70 yet? Regards, Ewan |

Hi Ewan,
Blue Planet Acoustic (BPA) in Frankfurt has new CHR-70 stock (also Alpair 7 and Alpair 12). blueplanetacoustic Lautsprecher für Industrie und den Lautsprecher Selbstbau - Home Thorsten at BPA is handling enquires while Nick is away recovering from an operation (wishing him speedy recovery). Also, talk to Wolfgang at Spectrum. I think he's stocking soon. Breitbandlautsprecher und mehr - SpectrumAudio Cheers Mark. |

Does anybody know if there's a plan for Markaudio speakers with a passive radiator?

Well, I just placed the order for the CHR-70s at CSS site. I look forward to giving them a listen. I plan on knocking up some sealed test boxes of about 1/3 ft^3 and comparing the sound using a 70s vintage SS rcvr, a SE tube amp and a PP tube amp. For voicing the top octave I will have to get her input though as I can hear nothing above 12.5k. Good thing there is not much music in that last octave.
Another question which is strictly a theoretical thing. I know that a lot of drivers are made with 4 ohm voice coils to get the most out of a solid state amplifier. Is it any harder (or easier) to make a good high performance driver with a 16 ohm voice coil? mike

Drivers have arrived. They look very nice. Probably won't get to them until after Christmas but I am chomping at the bit.

Ended up accidentally spreading my posts over two separate threads but just wanted to let you know that I got a set of CHR-70s and they look great. After Christmas I will get a chance to build a couple of test boxes and give them a go. Am anxious to get started but life so often interferes with the important stuff.
