I bought a nice Epson projector. Documentation and registration instructions are on CD. It is fine, they probably decided to save trees. But when I opened the CD I found Microsoft Windows executables instead of documentation and registration form. Is not it crazy? Do they mean that each and every client must buy Microsoft Windows in order to read the documentation and to register the projector?
Or may be Epson was bought by Microsoft, but I do not know that yet?

Get used to it. As a Mac user I know the symptom. As an example I can tell SSD firmware updates must be done on a Windows pc as the manufacturers don't even bother to make OS X capable software...

That's pretty lame, IMO. PDF would be the appropriate format for this.
Write to Epson and complain. Be nice about it, but complain. Corporations really do read the letters they get. Best to print it out and send it by mail. Everyone is swamped by email these days. |

I sent them e-mail using their support form. May be it will help?
Detailed description: Hi! I bought a projector. Wanted to read documentation and to register. Found CD instead of documentation and registration card. It's fine, you probably decided to save trees. But when I opened the CD I found that it is unisable: INSTEAD OF DOCUMENTATION IT CONTAINS MICROSOFT WINDOWS EXECUTABLE FILES. Steps taken: I went on your site, found "Registration" form, but the drop-down menu DOES NOT CONTAIN MY PROJECTOR MODEL NUMBER. EPSON DID NOT MENTIONED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT HIDDEN COSTS ON PURCHASE OF MICROSOFT WINDOWS COMPUTER.

Maybe. I'd still take the time to write them a letter as a CD without PDFs is pretty stupid. Someone will get reamed for it.
![]() Mention the model number of the projector, when and where you bought it and that you would like documentation in a platform neutral format, such as PDF. There is no (good) reason they should not have supplied those. |

I provided model number in their support form.

Not to have it in PDF is totally inexcusable. If they want interactive, HTML 5. Downgrade Epson.

The projector is really nice. However, when powered on it shows yellowish-green picture, but couple of minutes after it is crisp, and white balance is nice. However, I found PDF for it on their web-site, but still can't register. I selected "5020" model instead of "5010", and it swallowed my serial number with no problems. But what if I will need to contact them for support, how to prove that I bought it, but did not DIY?
