Suppose you were prepared....I could depend on a .44mag HP, for sure it will stop a bear.

44 mag hp may or may not stop it with a direct hit. And that direct hit is very questionable. There's a reason people use .50s as bear weapons, there's quite a bit more zoot than even a 44 mag.

Doubtful you would be able to out run a bear if it is really after you. Climbing a tree won't help you either.

S&W 629, six inch.....300 grain slug......Worn in a comfortable rig, a must in "Bear country".
