There was anither thread about this Philip's amp i'd seen on here before. It is a sweet looking room heater and those mercury tubes... No matter what though, my wife won't let me have one.

My mercury tubes are way bigger....:)

This amp was an inspiration to try and beat it. All my latest MV experiments were inspired by the youtube video.

2.5A flowing through a 90/100kW MV rectifier. The only reason I pursued this epxeriment (for my amp build) is because the video on the internet inspired me. The glow captured me and so I decided I wuold implement the rectifiers in my build

That scares me a lot........ almost as much as when my uncle Dave took me on site at Bawdsey Manor to look at Bloodhound missiles and their radar/computers.
