It also means you should be extra-careful when clinking on suspicious links on Twitter, in emails, on other social networks for the time being, even if they appear to come from friends.
except before they were using such tricks to force people to download backdoors in order to use their computers later anonymously. Here if I understand right they just provide applet that immediately generates traffic for denial of service attack.

Edit: just looked for the information. The whole story smells bad... Very bad, like "Anonymous VS Internet". Internet will be definitely killed now, and such Anonymous attacks help to organize people against Internet.

twitter is not working at this moment.

a sort of explanation -

Quote:

Partly carried out via Twitter messages, this new effort by Anonymous is only superficially similar to previous distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks that Anonymous has carried out to punish its targets. It's emerged that many of the attacks are being triggered by average Joe Internet users who merely click on a Web link, unaware that the action then activates code that tries to swamp a website with too much traffic.

Technolog - How Anonymous tricked the public into attacking websites

Looks like Internet got a new property: echo on HTTP level. Next step: reverberation...

One Internet security professional complained, his router was dropping packets if they belonged to SSL session, other traffic went through flawlessly. Sounds weird, but when provider replaced his router the weird phenomenon dissappeared.

I like this blog of Eugene Kaspersky, about "Total SOPA". Sopa sounds in consonance with Russian ЖОПА, i.e. butt. That means something like "Alas, no more way out."

?????? SOPA. | Nota Bene

Google translation is quite good. Google Translate
