That seems an odd place to visit! I was just through there two months ago- it's a nice town. You're not too terribly far from the Finger Lakes, which is a great wine region (if you like that sort of thing- I do).

Dress warmly as Binghamton is pretty cold and snowy in the winter. (I've only been there in the summer - passing through on my way to Chautauqua NY) Be sure to visit the McIntosh factory if you can manage that.

The popular hangout spots are Walmart and Wegmans super market. That should tell you something

![]() Within NY state I liked Montauk Point Lighthouse (summer time) the most. Lake Placid was good for mountain skiing winter time. |

What an awful time of year for a visit to NY. I try to pretend I'm not even here Nov-April.

This year wasnt so bad, up until last week it has been unusually warm. I lived in Bing for 2 years and I dreaded waking up every morning to scrape the ice off of my car.

Hey you-all stop picking on the family.
I ski, SWMBO does not. I have packed the long-johns and the winter woolly jumpers I will be fine. Visiting the in-laws for XMas is a fine tradition. AND I like picnics in the snow LOL
