I saw these google earth co-ordinates posted on another forum I visit from time to time.
The images are in mainland China, and are I thought rather interesting especilally 1 , 2, 4 and 6... zoom in for a closer look (especially 6) and also out for a wider look. 1. 40.488966,93.50004 2. 40.454477, 93.741846 3. 40.490893, 93.510803 4. 40.457712,93.391380 5. 40.458679,93.31314 6. 40.452107,90.85693359375 Any ideas as to what they might be? They are out in the desert and a couple of them have been sanitised (so I'm guessing they were considered sensitive). I find this zoomed bit (zoom in) from near 6 particularly intriguing. 40°26'51.27" N 90°51'22.91" E Tony. |

Interesting! They apparently don't get out to dust them off too often

Seen from the top, these images must need some professional eyes to be interpreted. But indeed, they are bizarre items in this desertic area.
The round shape in 5. (40.458679,93.31314) shows clearly 3 old fighter jets, probably Shenyang J-6, copies of the Russian MiG19. So it's certainly a military site. Just at the north of 40°26'51.27" N 90°51'22.91" E, it's also easy to see a big industrial site with cooling towers, antennas, chimneys, circular basins, train station, power lines...Maybe a mining site ? I wonder were the people working here are supposed to stay. Strange China. |

They do look like agricultural plots, and I guess some of the infrastructure could be for irrigation, It does seem like a really weird place for it though... zoomed out, it looks rather like a macro view of a vlsi integrated circuit, or processor!!
