Speaking of ... whatever it was we were speaking of, I was just listening to this about the discovery of new planet(oid)s beyond Pluto - "They've had absolutely no other discoveries before or since - they figured out what we were doing by looking at our website to see where our telescope was pointing..." (not an exact quote, but the gist)

At one of the first Rock concerts where I provided gear, the roadies were on the intercom, telling tales of sexual adventures. The old hand in the control room would let them finish and then ask "Is that all?" This quickly put an end to the antics.

So "Huh, what do you mean?" seems to have the same effect on similarly pointless threads!
