If I was going to vent I thought here would be the one place that would understand.
A little back story...... I have several brain tumors and have been dealing with this for years, physically, financially and mentally. I had one minor surgery so far and what is left was "inoperable".....well with quickly failing health, a few months ago changed their minds......we're now going in. As the days count down to surgery I am crippled with fear and worry. Yet again the one thing that has been there for me when I needed an outlet is audio. In preparation of my recovery over the last few months I have found cabinets for my Fostex 126's and 127's that "work".....they are nothing more than thrift store cabinets with new baffles screwed on, but hey when you're unemployed whatever works! This is the last part of my system that needs finished before I can enjoy it during my bed rest so yesterday I took the drivers out and sanded the cabinets. I left both pair on my back porch over night to wake up to NO CABINETS! I'm so pissed off at myself for leaving them out in the first place but come on......they are empty cabinets with deep scratches and crappy looking mis-matched baffles!! I went through about 6 pairs of trash speakers to get cabinets that worked damnit. I'm now cabinet-less, broke, have waaaay to much to worry about and I'm sitting here upset about empty speaker cabinets that some local surely pawned for his next "fix". I wonder how FE126eN's will sound in a Kleenex box........ I will enjoy my reworked Minimus 7's for now

I'm telling you Pano these cabinets were ugly...... they were "functional" at best
I really can't imagine what these twirps are going to do with them.........then again maybe they have some Fostex that needed homes too |

If it would make you feel better, in my country with supposedly low crime rate, shoes left outside doors can get stolen.
When I see how people in other countries can get by without a perimeter fence, it makes me wonder if my country, where a metal gate in front on the only entrance to the flat is mandatory, is really safe. |
