Unhappy blackouts suck :(

not only was i not able to listen to music, watch tv, or surf the web (or refrigerate my food, air condition my apartment, or get downstairs for that matter), but my stereo sound absolutely AWFUL right now... thin, flat, anemic, yuck. guess the power grid is not quite back to 100% yet. *sigh* my voltage seems ok though, i measured 120VAC w/a DMM, tho i think normally i get closer to a 125VAC reading on my meter. i'd take a look at the AC line on my 'scope but i'm too lazy to take it out at the moment...

Is that an early electrostatic speaker with a clear plastic diaphragm? If not, what is it?

Heh, heh, that's the speaker that put Nelson Pass out of commission.

I actually do remember reading in the New York Times about a fellow at an audio show who was demonstrating his ionic tweeter when he was overcome by the fumes-ozone I believe.

When he awoke at the hospital, all they could get out of him was stuff about how he felt that risking asphyxiation and possible multiple fractures from a fall was the least he could do to advance the audio art.

I wonder if he posts on this forum. How would we know?

Default blackout sucks

Yes it does but mine has nothing to do with the one your talking about. Last week my main Tv, my main amp and my computer all suffered of the same problem. The same noise, the same smell and the same result. The fact is that yes my tv was a bit old and my amp was severely used but I can't believe it, I lost approximately 3000 in almost 20min. Nothing survived. I burned the burner with my solen cd in it. **** does happen!
