Haha, good to know. So far, this forum has been really, really helpful and everyone's been really friendly. Though, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who hasn't had a formal education in this stuff.

For the basics here is a good web-site to take a look at - and I have about a dozen more - but I think it's best to start out with just one as to much info at a time can lead to overload and confusion. Basic Car Audio Electronics

Also - for some basic kits and electronics lab kits take a look at this site. A basic lab kit can help for those just starting out - and you won't need to worry about dangerous voltages until later on when you know a bit more about electrical safety. Electronic Kits, Electronic Hobby Kits, Electronic Kit

The 1st thing to learn and observe is electrical safety.

You will also be around some chemicals (Adhesives - cleaning solvents - paints - soldering stuff, etc.) and will need to take a bit of care there.

I hope that you find the information helpful - and fell free to PM me if you need some help.
Very cool. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely look into this stuff. And yeah, electrical safety: something I've definitely looked over. Thanks for the heads up!

There isn't anything at all formal about this place - and the degree to which it can be educational is debatable. But as far a being a place to have a little fun it does pretty goooood.

Silly posts are often educational. As far as fun goes - the more I learn the worse it gets.

I sometimes find silly posts amusing, and the replies educational. I find the more I learn the more fun I have.

Good for you. In a sense, when I'm being selfish, it's fun to know your surroundings. But, when I'm not being selfish, I feel sorry for them.

Yes, sometimes. I find that constructing a reply can sometimes help clarify my own thoughts, and it certainly gives others an opportunity to correct me!
