There's a European Patent Treaty, you could probably Google the current list of signers. Iceland was no. 29 I think so most must be covered.

I don't gamble but if I did I would go to Vegas and play roulette betting on red or black. That is 50 - 50 odds. The best you can get in Vegas and probably anywhere. Unless you can count cards in blackjack and all which is not illegal but will still get you in a lot of trouble. They say it would have gotten you killed or maimed not so long ago but not now but I wouldn't bet on it. It will for sure at least get you banned from anywhere in Vegas for life even though it is completely legal. Id say most likely beat up real bad too but I couldn't prove that and if I could I wouldn't anyway. I would rather not get beat up real bad or maimed or killed.

Senate votes to give patent office more authority

Imagine a patent office as free from greedy politicians as possible.

I have thought about what would happen if someone else took one of my ideas, and made money on it
not likely to happen
but still, it would get out in the world, and make it 'richer'

should I be able to patent anything, it would probably not get any further
which means, a patent could prevent a good idea from being used
and it does happen, maybe even more than we can imagine

Though, I do at the present have one single design, that I'm holding on to
something for a guitar, that I can say

now I think of it
remember a couple of friends who had a good idea
it was produced 'out in the far east'
plenty were made, and sold
but they got nothing out of it
robbed and cheated
noone gave a toss about them

The Beer Bottle ornament is a "Design Patent" which is much like a Copyright in that they own the shape or style of the device. It's does not apply to an invention.

Some hypothetical voice out there: "What's an invention?"
A Patent Academy teacher I knew: "Whatever the inventor says it is."
