2x200 W into 8 ohms. Wonder how hot it gets when delivering that kind of power. And I wonder how the output devices will survive given the thermal resistance of whatever goop they used to attach the output devices to the pot.
$40k!! Insane. $400... Sure. If I was in the market for a cast iron pot with an amp in it... Not quite as silly as the MacBook Pro I saw on eBay earlier today. "Near perfect condition". You just had to accept a cracked screen and nine missing keys on the keyboard. But apparently, it worked great with an external monitor and keyboard... A fool and his money... ~Tom |

Cooling shouldn't be a problem. The outputs aren't hooked up and the filter caps are setting with the pins up, not wired either.

Hmmmm........... I wonder what SWMBO would do if I made a couple of mono-block amps out of her cast iron skillets?
 OTOH - if I could sell 'em for say $10k each she might go fur it!!!!  As Steve said - heck - this thing isn't even hooked up - gotta be a joke!  Hmmm..... Tube Audio Design does have a web site and BTW the $40k seems to be for the used unit. The new price is $100k
