Default Online chess?

Can anyone recommend a site where I can play chess online in real-time against a family member who's remote? Sort of like two-player Chess Titans, but with the two players being in different places?

chesshere.com seems to offer the kind of service you're looking for, but it's not a recommend, I haven't used it.

Reviving this old thread. I'm curious if any of you guys plays online chess, and if so, on which sites? We've been using chess.com, which seems quite nice, but would love to know experiences of people there and in other places.

If you're both on Facebook maybe worth going that route for convenience? I know there's a fair few apps in the chess department.
