When monks get into their 50's many adopt the pear-liked shape. I don't think the asceticism is quite in vogue.

The short monk has to jump to be "heard".

There are some musically clever 12 Days Of Christmas too. One can only cringe to imagine the excess of an audiophile version, since we so love excess.

I had Dominicans 1-8 -- years later I learned that they were really "cani dominii" -- my Phys Chem prof - a jebbie who passed away a few years back was in a German Carmelite parish for grade school.

I think you can hear these guys up near Cambridge -- the BGMC if I'm not mistaken.
