Default Pretty impressive!

From the shore.

And on board.

Note that the guy on board, whom has uploaded this vid, has confused Storebaelt with Oresund. The captain fortunately knew which way to go

Where was the tide when they went thru?

Bet there would have been some red-faced engineers if it turned out not to have dit under.

The tide was low, and it did max. speed to get as low in the water as possible.

Judging from the sound of the people, on video taken from the deck of the ship, they didn't feel that less than 1 meter was all that big a margin

A little bonus info:

They didn't intend to close the Storebaelt-bridge, as they obviously felt pretty confident, that it would be ok.
Less than 5 minutes before the ship was to pass under the bridge, the measuring equipment of the bridge, claimed that it was some 35 cm too high.
Now a ship of this size, doing 20+ knots, is not going to just pull the brake, and stop (actually slowing down, would have made matters worse, as it would lay taller in the water).

So, PANIC!

They close the bridge, AND switch off the web-cams of the Storebaelt-bridge (no reason to provide live proof for the public ridicule).

As you could see in the clips, the engineers were right, and the clowns controlling the Storebaelt-bridge were wrong.
They didn't take the hot exhaust in consideration, so instead of measuring the height of the ship, they measured how high the exhaust was blown

So, some ended up with red ears, they were just of a different nationality.
