I'm not 100% certain, but I think it was "The Sting" I'm pretty sure the first movie I went to (without the parents or some other adults) was Star Trek, and the first movie I drove to the drive-in was Mad-Max (a few years after it came out).

and scarily I too would have underwear older than the OP

I swear it was "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad" though can't see remembering it at such a tender age. Perhaps the Canadian release was later. Much later.

I think the earliest movie I saw in a theater was either "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" or the re-release of "The Aristocats". I can't remember seeing anything in the theater before that, and I don't remember which of those two happened first.
