Hi Glen, give this link a go.......

http://s703.photobucket.com/albums/w...hotos/reduced/

Sounds like you are having a bad time with that. Also sounds like you are well on top of it mindst. You could always stick a noisy exhast and a KN filter on it and it will run perfect!

What make is the distributor? I will ask the guru if he has any feedback on them.

Enjoy the gentle warble of a lovely V8, I miss that.

John

Thanks John. That link works and I can see the pics now - nice work.

After a little more research and ringing around, here is the ignition unit I'll be getting:

This will work with my stock HEI dizzy, modified with the centrifugal and vacuum advance mechanism disabled/locked.

I'm going to be pretty busy (zero spare time for the internet) for the next week or so, but after that I'll try to make a sound recording of the thing and post it as a *.wav file

Cheers,
Glen

Hi Glen.

A wav when you get chance would be a splendid thing.

There's been a bit more progress with the task. He bought a big box of spot weld drills and it will soon be time for the family size bumper box of grinding discs. New rear quarters are needed, they were a bit more rotten than originally thought.

Came by what may be the worlds smallest car and it made me hoot, I can see where he is coming from and the revolving key in the back is splendid.

Hi John

I hope that car will only be taken out into the sunshine when it is finished!

I'll try to find a microphone tomorrow and fire up one of my reel-to-reel machines. I've got some minor maintenence to do on the car then too.

Cheers,
Glen

Sunshine?

You have been away from England a long time haven't you?

We had one day of nice bright sunshine 3 days ago, since then just grey and rain. Then some more rain and more greyness.

He has been careful with the grinder sparks but every window in it turns brown whenever it rains. So does the bonnet, boot, roof, doors and 8 feet of concrete all around it!

John

Hi John. Believe it or not the weather has been quite miserable here today as well. So much so that I didn’t go outside to play with the car today. I found my microphone though! The *.wav file will have to wait till next weekend.

Cheers,
Glen
