I can get AF to run a script to get a better number, but a quick survey of the members list indicates between 30-40% US membership. A lerge number of those being scince types will be happy with real degrees.

We had some cold days here last week.
As you all know I live in north of Sweden.

My coldest night reading was -31.9 C
and in the daytime it never went warmer than -24 C.
But another place in Sweden ( Åsele ) had -37.7 C this night.

Record low temperatures in Sweden...

Official Swedish meteorological records

Lowest recorded temperature in Sweden:
-52.6 C Vuoggatjålme, 2 February 1966

The lowest temperature ever officially recorded
in Canada and in North America is -63 °C (-81.4 °F)
on February 3, 1947 at Snag, Yukon.

The lowest temperature ever recorded in the United States was -62 °C (-80 °F)
on January 23, 1971 at Prospect Creek Camp, located near the Arctic Circle along the Alaska pipeline.
This is not much warmer than the record low for North America that Snag in the Yukon dropped to on February 3, 1947.

...... CALIFORNIA
Death Valley +56.7 C (134.0 F) on the 10th July, 1913
Boca -42.8 C (-45.0 F) on the 20th January, 1937

Yes, I see:
090127: 4:53 AM -31.1 °C

Butte Airport - daily weather history:

Butte is in state of Montana.
Montana looks like being located in north-west part of USA.
From the name, Montana, we might assume there are some mountains there

Regards
