A radio station I listen to keeps playing "River" by Herbie Hancock and the odd Buble's "Let It Snow", insisting listeners keep requesting them. I find this REALLY hard to believe.
Anyone else being driven NUTZ? |

Mercifully, no. I'm glad that they stopped after Christmas. We have one station here that starts playing Christmas tunes at the beginning of November. And from there on until Christmas, that's all they play!

I remember seeing Hot Cross buns in the supermarket on the 8th of January.
The music in the shops comes out in November here. Shopping at Christmas time is unpleasant with the constantly repeated music. It's a good idea to take some noise cancelling headphones and an mp3 player to buy the food for the week. Songs about white Christmas and snow through a cheap PA and wrestling with a three wheeled shopping trolley while it is 110 farenheit in the shade is enough to drive you insane. Geek, have you tried calling and requesting they not play it. If they get more not-requests than requests it might cancel out.

Yes. That's how I know they are insisting people are requesting the tunes.
I think it's their way of saying it's a "payola" song |

Perhaps you could get some friends together to request something else inappropriate and see what they do.
Surely if they play Christmas music in February they'll spin a bit of Iron Maiden for you.

Personally I was thinking more along the lines of "Number of the Beast", but I've always had a bit of an ironic, irreverent sense of humor. It would be fun to watch peoples faces!

I think my barrage of complaints is finally taking effect - they're playing it evey 8 hours instead of every three...
