Exclamation Light alternative

Im interested in starting a DIY projector, during my research the cost od MH bulbs and set ups are too expensive. I was wondering if any one knew a different light alternative, i have access to tons of led bulbs, reading in the forums that concept would be quite complicated. Im trying to find a light source that will do the job, and work well.

What type/brightness/voltage LEDs do you have access too? A PJ can be done with LEDs, you just need the right ones and many of them.
