Dies anyone know if I would have any trouble mounting the arm with a triplet lense off if a 3M 9200 onto the base of an Elmo 305sd? Are there any physics issues about focal length that I need to be worried about?

I bought the elmo on eBay but the a305 isn't as bright as my 3M 9200. I think I got ripped off because the bulb is suppose to be twice as bright as my 3M.
Anyway, If PayPal rules against me and I have to keep this turkey, I want to find a way to make the brighter Elmo (once I buy a bulb) work with the 3M 9200s lense.
