Default S400DD on and off?

I just got my S400DD bulb that I ordered from DIY projector company yesterday and when I go to turn it on, it would turn on for one second then turn off for around five seconds and repeat the process.

What might be the problem?

What ballast are you using? Electronic? Coil and Core? What model number?

Electronic. What model number are you referring to?

Model number of the ballast or where you got it from. Did this ballast come from diyprojectorcompany too?

I'm not sure that ballast is compatible with the Ushio S400DD bulb. It's a metal halide ballast and the Ushio bulb was designed to run on HPS voltages. You need to contact the ballast manufacturer and find out.

I'm not sure. The Ushio S400DD is a metal halide bulb designed to run on a HPS Ansi code S51 ballast. You'll have to look up the specs on a S51 400 watt ballast. Also check Ushios site for any technical info on the bulb.

Rats, that sucks. I guess now I have to sell either the ballast or bulb to accommodate for either one. Which one should I sell?
