you have read right but if you dont use a reflector for the extra 30% of light why buy a 400 w if your not going to use all its light seems pointless to me.

thanks for the replies guys, now....what's the best reflector for a ushio light? and something i can either get locally here in louisiana or order for fairly cheap

im using a Stainless steel half sphere moulds i got offline but shiping wasnt cheap may find one in your town heres where i got it so you have an idea http://www.dr.ca/ click on staninless steel and its the 8th one down

The best reflector for the Ushio is the new Pro Reflector from LumenLabs..
It's $15 and adds about 25% more brightness than a Norpro or Ikea reflector. |

Yes I'm using it right now.
I had the Ikea reflector first. With the Pro Reflector the increase in brightness was very noticeable and the light was more uniform on the screen also. Stainless steel reflectors seem to make "hot spots" and the Pro Reflector evens the light out better while increasing brightness a lot. |

ok, thanks, i will probuably order one..... actually i'm using fresnals from my ohp and the distance of the light source to the fresnals in the ohp are 330mm, will there reflector still work because they are saying it's for a 220mm

how close to the ushio should i place the reflector? also what are you guys using to hold it in place, it meaning the reflector. thanks in advance for any assistance
