i went to an electronic surplus store and bought some heat shrink tubing in various sizes...
anyways, some say they are glue lined on the inside and some are not. i think the more stiff ones where glue lined. what is the glue for, and is it bad for certain wiring? or are they just a matter of preference? (some of mine have it and some don't.) |

The glue lined stuff is about moisture sealing. I have sealed wires for direct ocean submersion with the stuff... if your wires are real clean it actually works.

oh, thanks man.
so the glue has no adverse effect on wires? guess it's no different from insulation once it dries. i was just asking because when i bought them i heard the guy before me asking for non glue-lined tubing. maybe cause he likes it more flexible then. |

Actually,
There are differnet kinds of glue for different jobs. The most common stuff is the same as the glue sticks in a hot glue gun... Won't hurt the wires a bit... |
