Default There's probably a reason nobody mentioned doing this, but.....

If I want to use a reflector in my projector, and I want to use dichroic, but can't find just a dichroic reflector (Which seems to be a bit of a challenge) Is there any reason I couldn't simply get a Halogen lamp with the right size reflector already attached, rip out all the excess (Being VERY careful, probably using cut proof gloves or... heck, having somebody who works with metal do it for me), and then use the reflector with a MH bulb?
